WV State Farm Museum

Ahhhh, Autumn has arrived... the leaves are turning, the air is crisp, there are bloody deer carcasses all over the roads...

We went field trippin' on Thursday. I really didn't want to go but I'd already flaked out on the last few field trips so we bundled up and headed out on some long and winding roads. We ended up at the WV State Farm Museum and I'm glad we went.

The museum is more than just an old farm. They have buildings and artifacts from just about every aspect of life in the olden days. I'm still not clear exactly what era they were showcasing. I'm pretty sure they just took anything old and displayed it. But it was still very cool. Here's a few of our favorite parts. Click the pictures to make them bigger.

Here's the whole gang in front of the one room schoolhouse. The farm also had a blacksmith shop, doctor's office, newspaper office, post office, log cabins, and many more attractions.
Taxidermy performed right before our very eyes. Ick, ick, ick was my first thought, but it was quite interesting. They also had a whole room full of stuffed animals, including a two headed fawn. Kewl!
Adam is feeding a cow. All the kids loved the farm animals, even more than they loved the stuffed animals!

Okay, this has nothing to do with your blog post, but I just had to tell you...you were in a dream I had last night! How scary/sad is it when you start incorporating your online friends into your dreams?? lol

I dreamed that I was at one of my old jobs (my first "real" job) and I had gone upstairs (I worked on the 3rd floor, you were on the 4th) under the pretext of doing some sort of work, but really it was just to gab (aka "socialize" lol).

Well, you and I talked for 45 minutes before I went back to my desk. It had been noticed that I was missing and I had nothing to show for having been gone 45 minutes. I was in trouble.

But, that's okay. I just told them I was going to quit work and stay at home with my kids! lol

Someone "interpreted" my deam as meaning that I spend too much time on the computer. Hmmm...that might be accurate.
