Another day... another picnic....

It's that time of year. All the homeschool groups are planning year-end picnics. Yet when you talk to the homeschoolers at the year-end picnics, they say they're not taking a summer break, or at least not taking one yet. LOL


Friday's picnic was at a very nice park. They have at least five different playgrounds but we didn't go to any of those. We went to the outdoor ampitheatre to see the homeschool band play. There was also a little talent show but my boys didn't perform. Ryan said his only talent was playing Playstation. {rolling eyes} The band was very good! Ryan has been taking drum lessons from Jeff so he thinks he'll "probably" play in the band next year. I'm trying to talk Adam into choosing an instrument too. If I have to go to all those practices and performances, it may as well be for two kids instead of just one! ;)

Since there were no playgrounds near the ampitheatre, the kids entertained themselves climbing the mountain. Ryan found another turtle and they all managed to bring home pounds of dirt on their clothes! We left the turtle (terrapin) there. I also brought home piles of books that we don't need. I'm a sucker for free books. I got three complete sets of Bob books - like new!

Today we spent the morning at the soccer fields. Jeff coached Evan's game since the coach was out of town. Evan scored two goals and they won 3-1. Adam and Ryan also won their games today. Adam played all four quarters and was huffing and puffing b/c he forgot his water bottle in the van. Don't ya just love when you're rushing around to get water fixed before you leave and then they don't even take it with them? Evan left his at home and Adam and Ryan both left their bottles in the van!
