My friend, Kris, was just saying the other day how she's become pickier on what she buys since she's been homeschooling so long. While I agree with her, it's still hard for me to pass up a great deal! I spent all day yesterday fighting with the Scholastic site. They're having their $1 Days Sale and it's so-o-o-o incredibly s-l-o-w.... but worth it, I guess. There are twenty pages of "professional resources" for only $1 each! I lost my cart and had to start over three times. I would have given up but these are incredibly great deals and I already had a lot of time invested! I eventually wound up on the phone late last night with a sympathetic, yet not-at-all helpful, sales rep. She told me they had over a million visitors in the Teacher Store that day, which explains why the site was so slow!! She suggested I call back tomorrow. But I had a confirmation email in my inbox this morning so I guess my order finally went through! Yippee! Here's what I got for $1 each:
- Building Skills in Writing: Story Writing
- Bingo Math
- Helping Students Revise Their Writing
- Helping Students Write The Best Research Reports Ever
- Mega-Fun Card-Game Math
- Awesome Activities to Help Reluctant Writers Succeed
- Ready-to-Go Super Book of Outline Maps
- Spectacular State Report Projects - for Any State!
- Sing Along and Learn: Marvelous Math (with Audio CD)
- Spelling Works!
- The 50 Great States Game
- Shipping and handling: $2.24
Grand Total: $13.24Can you tell I want to work more on writing??
So if you want some great deals, and don't mind a slow, very slow, web site, visit the $1 Days Sale at Scholastic. I know I sound like a commercial but I really don't get anything out of this... other than a warm fuzzy feeling for helping others.
