Matthew peed his pants this morning (that's not the whiz kid part). He was trying to get clean underwear out of Evan's drawer (again, not the whiz kid part). I explained to him that the drawers on that side of the dresser were Evan's. Matthew said, "Evan has three drawers?" Yes, he does!Then I explained that the rest of the drawers were Matthew's. He said, "I have three drawers, 1, 2, 3." Then, he said, "If I got rid of that one, I'd have two drawers." Spontaneous subtraction; a keen grip on word problems... the kid is a genius.
And just to prove it's not a fluke...
We were at J's Mom's house last night for New Year's Eve. We took Dash with us. SIL brought her dog and J's Mom's dog was there. Matthew was excited. He said, "There's three dogs here. If we had one more dog, we'd have four!" Spontaneous addition!! He's just smart all over. ;)
