Ryan: Destiny!
He was so sure he was right. LOL But welcome to the most boring topic in all of of science-dom, density, or actually all of the properties of physical science. We did Astronomy last year. That was fun. We've loved Biology in years past. Even Botany was a thrill compared to this. Physical Science, and most especially density, is b.o.r.i.n.g.
So, we're trying to make it more fun by doing every single experiment in the book. Today's experiment was to demonstrate the varying densities of different liquids. We started with some italian dressing (vinegar and oil). Then we put oil and water in a bottle and tried to get them to mix. Finally, we poured corn syrup, colored water, and oil into a measuring cup (our version of a glass beaker). The column of separate liquids was sort of neat. The boys had fun trying to stir those together but the pictures make it seem WAY more interesting than it actually was.
