Happy Easter!

I've reached a new level of respect from Ryan. I pulled out my flag from high school band and started twirling it. Rye was very impressed. He said, "Did you used to do that Mommy?" "Why don't you do it anymore?" "You should join a band." I just love that kid. I didn't have the heart to tell him that most bands don't want pudgy almost-middle-aged women in their flag corps. Plus, I 'd really have to polish my tosses. They've lost a little height, spin, and accuracy over the years. There was more than one LOOK OUT cry in my backyard that day! LOL

We've started reading Old Yeller. The boys are loving it. They're even reading ahead! I'd never read it before and it's better than I expected... definitely a boy book with all the dog fights and wild animals. I haven't read it before but I know what happens at the end and I know Ryan is going to cry. He's very into the book and loves Old Yeller. He just now told me that Old Yeller got hurt and since he didn't know what Old Yeller looks like, he pictured Dash and almost cried. Now he's hugging and petting Dash! What's he going to do when Old Yeller dies??

I just got our new Apologia Astronomy book!! It's beautiful. I just love a brand new book... the shiny cover, the glossy pages, all those words waiting to be explored. We read a bit today but I'm going to wait until Monday to really dive into it. We'll be doing notebooking and experiments to go along with the reading.

And, of course, we've been getting ready for Easter. We dropped our regular Bible study to read about Jesus' triumphant entrance into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, His crucifixion and resurrection. It's truly the most important thing you can teach your kids. If they never learn anything else, they need to know that Jesus died for them. Please don't let this holiday pass you by with no mention of Jesus. I love you all! Happy Easter!

um, Ive always pictured Yeller as a large YELLOW dog. Doesn't the book give a description? We watched the best movie tonight. Used our free PPV coupon to see Facing the Giants. Josh was crying. Youve got to see it. It's a football movie about trusting God to do the impossible. You ALL will love it.

Oh yeah, I saw a sign up the other day for peewee flag corps. For SG's age! I let it pass tho, bummer, maybe next year.

I'd love to know what you think of the Aplogia science book. That's what I'm going to look into for next year.

Happy Easter!
