Saturday Again

Another Saturday... another soccer game...

oh, and another soccer game... and, um, a football game.

Adam was awesome on defense today. Nothing got past his side of the field, but they still lost 2-1. Evan was a blur on the field and scored a goal. His team won by some outrageous amount. I lost track. Ryan was excited that his team won and he got to play wide receiver. He didn't actually get to catch any passes though since his coaches have only taught eleven specific kids the plays... and they have no play book. I secretly wish the whole "dream team" would come down with some mysterious, non-contagious, non-painful, quick healing ailment that would cause them all to miss homecoming this coming weekend (don't get me started on 4th graders and homecoming - puh-leez!!). Let the self-centered idiots try to coach a team that haven't been taught the plays! HA! They have no idea what the other nine kids on the team can do b/c they haven't tried to teach them anything. Ryan would probably need some practice to learn to catch in pads but he'd get it. That kid can catch... and run... and run plays. But they'll never know that b/c they have their favorites and Rye isn't one of them.

Well, I didn't set out to vent but there it is. Now you all get to see my spiteful, vengeful, side. It really doesn't come out much, just when I feel like my sweet baby is being treated unfairly. Last time I felt that way, we ended up homeschooling!

"Last time I felt that way, we ended up homeschooling!"

LOL So, what's it going to be this time? Coaching your own football team? ;-)

Seriously, I hate when coaches do that. We've seen that same thing here...and it's often MY sweet baby who's being treated unfairly. Don't the coaches realized that all of their players have some potential if they'd just take some time to develop it? And, heck, even if they don't, these are KIDS...let them have some fun!

I agree let the kids just have FUN! Coaches take it a little to seriously. It's a game, not about winning all the time.

Ah, that's too bad. We've been really lucky in the coach department so far - of course, that's so far of one season of t-ball and one season of soccer. And even the meanest of coaches are pretty understanding of K/1st graders. I've heard some stories from the other team that our soccer coach coaches, lol... let's just say that his 14-yr old daughter says that he's a totally different person when he coaches their team. You can just see him holding back when the Littles are playing. It's kind of funny.

Hope football gets better. Maybe you should start a homeschool team? A co-ed homeschool team. :) Come on, you sound so bored lately. You could use the challenge. ;) ROFL
