The boys had a vacation last week. While dh and I worked on the kitchen, they laid around watching tv and wishing their playstation hadn 't met it's untimely demise.
The kitchen is not finished but the big stuff is done (at least until the counters come in) so the boys are back to school this week.
Evan started with a big whining fit. No surprise there. A few questions from Mommy helped him realize how silly he was being. I just wish I'd thought to ask those questions before I got mad, yelled at him, and threatened to take him down the street to the local elementary... not one of my most stellar homeschooling moments.
Adam and Ryan managed to not whine, complain, or otherwise ruin my day. We decided to skip the remainder of the plant unit in our Science book. There's just so much fun plant stuff we could do if it wasn't w-i-n-t-e-r! The boys are happy to be moving into a section on the human body. We just did a unit on the human body last spring so we should be able to whip through this pretty quickly.
Over the next two weeks, we'll be working on science fair projects for co-op. Adam's will be entered into the middle school competition. The rest of us will work together to make a project for the family science fair which is exhibition only. It's been a long, long, long, long time since I've done a science fair project so this should be fun (or not).
