I learned how to use a compass today... not the kind I'd need if I got lost in
The 1oo Acre Wood, but the kind that I will most likely never use again in my entire life (or at least until my next kid gets to 6th grade). I haven't used one up until this day. I don't even remember using a compass when I was in 6th grade myself. But A Beka says Adam needs to be able to draw a perfect circle so that's what we did. Maybe he'll become an engineer of round bridges or a renowned circle artist and we can thank A Beka for teaching us how to use the compass. But I watched Adam with the compass today and I really don't think that's going to happen. He is, however, quite good at figuring radii and diameters.

I don't remember doing that in 6th grade either!
hmmm,
I read my blogs through a RSS reader and now I don't get feed updates since it's private. Bummer.
Sorry, Crystal. I know it's a pain. I may go public again in a few weeks, when the pedophile will have moved on to other prey.
Congrats on the compass skills. Neato!
Can you come over and teach me?
I'm doomed once we hit sixth grade ....
I don't remember when I first used a compass. I must be some kind of nutcase because I bought my 1st and 3rd graders compasses and protractors this past summer when school supplies went on sale. I even taught them how to use their compasses and they quickly because art supplies.
just wanted to say to Crystal that google reader is picking up the feed for me- I dont' know much about feeds, but maybe yours is just having an off day? :-)
Mary- When my kids get to higher math- it is totally up to DH- I am NOT friends with numbers!!!!
