Book-It for Homeschoolers

Some people think external rewards for reading take the joy out of it. Will the child who reads for rewards continue to read after the pizza runs out? Some people say reading for a reward is not as rewarding as reading for one's self. Therefore, those people don't appreciate Pizza Hut's Book-It program. I say, "Hey, it's free pizza!!"

So if you are not one of those people, it's time to enroll your little readers for free pizza. You can call 1-800-426-6548. Or for those of us who'd rather enroll without talking to an actual person, you can visit the Book-It Web Site.

You may have tangible wealth untold:
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be —
I had a mother who read to me.

Is it that time again? LOL, you know, I just threw out our pizza coupons from last (this?) year. It was a good incentive the first month, but the pizza wasn't good enough to work more than once. ROFL. Besides, it seems like EVERYONE gives out free pizza as a reward so we ended up with something like 3 or 4 free pizzas in October or November... we were sick of pizza, lol.

Now if LEGO would come up with a reading incentive program....

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I couldn't agree more about the BookIt program! I loved it as a child, and thought it provided a great incentive to read!

I didn't realize that homeschoolers could participate too! Thanks for the tip!

i love this programme too, only we don't have a sit down pizza hut near us...we do one that gives us free tickets for a minor league baseball team (the cheap standing seats, lol)...
