Attitude!

I have too many children. With so many personalities running around, there is always at least one of them ready to give me some attitude. Today was Rye's turn. He chose to ignore my nice voice and then got offended when I snapped at him to come do Spelling. I asked him if those extra 20 seconds of computer time, that he got by ignoring me, were worth it to have a grouchy mother. He responded with some under his breath muttering and several rounds of, "I hate Spelling." All of which earned him an early bedtime.

We finished Spelling and he stomped off to pout. I had to bring him back to the table for Language, which he totally fouled up. We did some A Beka Read & Think sheets today and Ryan usually aces those but today he got one out of five questions correct. Attitude really does make a difference. I've noticed that with Adam's math papers.

I finally found something that will occupy Matthew while we work. He loves markers but isnt' very careful with them. I bought him some ColorWonder markers and paper and he loves them! We usually sit on the living room floor with our white board and workbooks for math. Today Matthew sat there with us but played with his own markers instead of trying to grab the dry erase marker!!

But I messed up and didn't take advantage of his nap today. Our lunch break went long and we were just starting table work when he awakened. He is NOT a good waker! He likes to be cuddled and carried around. He wasn't interested in sitting at the table with his markers and he wasn't interested in the wide variety of food I used for bribes. Couple that with Rye's poor attitude - not a good afternoon!

One bad attitude can really throw the whole day off! Nolan is usually my challenge!
