Evan (6), he of the sensitive nose, was whining about poop. He was really upset, rolling around, holding his nose, telling me I need to go check Matthew b/c he must have pooped his pants. I told him it wasn't Matthew b/c he wasn't even in the room and his poop doesn't stink THAT badly. I suggested they start looking for dog poop b/c I was starting to smell it too. Then Dash walked in the room licking his lips and I thought, "At least he cleaned it up." LOL
But the smell was just getting stronger. I went to check on Matthew and found him with no pants and poop smeared all down his legs. Ick - but still doesn't explain the HORRIFIC smell. I put him in the tub and washed him. I found a poop stain on his bedroom floor that I cleaned. But I still couldn't find the actual poop. I kept picturing the dog licking his lips.
Finally the kid was clean and the floor was clean but the smell remained. I asked Matthew where his poopy pants were. He had been wearing his BRAND NEW fire truck pajamas that he loves. He said he put them in the washer but I could hear the washer running from the load of laundry I put in there this morning. I fervently hoped he hadn't put his poopy pants in with my almost clean laundry. Later, I wished that's what he would have done.
I rushed to the laundry room and the sound of the running dryer filled me with dread. He'd put his brand new, poop covered pants into the dryer AND TURNED IT ON. Warm poop may be the most sickening smell ever. The pants may never come clean... and neither may the dryer. There was poop on every single inch of the dryer drum. I cleaned and scrubbed and disinfected. It looks clean but it still smells like warm poop.

Oh, man! I do not envy you but I did have a good chuckle. I hope you get the smell out somehow.
Isn't his birthday today too? Lucky you! :)
I wonder if you put a rag soaked in bleach water or vinegar water in the dryer and ran it for awhile if that would get rid of the smell? Of course it would just leave the house smelling like bleach or vinegar.
Oh, GROSS!!!! I'm sorry, but I can't seem to do anything but chuckle and shake my head. Ewwwww!
Oh. My. Word.
BLECHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....
And, hey! I know that shirt! I shop at Wal-Mart, too! : ) Sebastian has it. When we saw it ("My parents are exhausted"), I soooo had to buy it. *grin*
